Program Educational Objectives
The BSME Program
Educational Objectives (PEOs) represent the link between the program
construction and the needs of stakeholders along with the missions of the
university and faculty. The BSME educational processes are planned and designed
to ensure that the PEOs can be achieved. These educational processes include
the means to develop, deliver, evaluate, and improve the quality of BSME
graduates several years after graduation and hence meet program objectives. The
PEOs were initially formulated by the Departmental Council with often face to
face input from the program constituencies namely; existing students, the
industrial advisory committee, and employers. Taking into consideration all the
feedback from the program constituencies, the refined objectives were discussed
in several departmental council meetings. The BSME Program has defined a set of
objectives that translate BSME mission into measurable elements.
The program educational objectives of mechanical engineering undergraduate program are listed below.
Within a few years of graduation, our graduates will:
- Have successful careers in mechanical engineering and its related applications and have assumed professional roles of increasing responsibility and impact.
- Be engaged in an advanced study, life-long learning and/or professional development to pursue flexible career paths among future multidisciplinary engineering aspects.
- Participate in and contribute to professional societies and community services.
